We have been around long enough now to know about cables and cabling.

We are planning to have our own branded products, well in fact, to start with, we are planning on having are own branded cables.
It seems to us that the most popular request is for Cat6 U/UTP , so this is where we will look to introduce our first product. And this is likely to become our default installation as more bandwidth hungry applications come into play. 4K, HDbase-T, M2M, IoT, POE wireless, IP CCTV, all either upon us now or just round the corner, we could be seeing the end of the road for Cat5e.

It will be a Cat6 U/UTP cable with the following specifications:

500 Mhz, 23 AWG, 1Gbps, Low Smoke Zero Halogen 6.6 mm,

Lets break that down,
500 Mhz, this will allow Bandwidth hungary applications such as streaming media the bandwidth needed to run 1080p video and above to the devices that are demanding it.
23 AWG , this will give plenty of overhead for POE devices to draw DC voltage to 100 meters for applications such as Wireless Access Points, and CCTV cameras
LSZH, low smoke zero halogen - we believe that as an industry, we should be offering our clients the benefits of safer products and so we have chosen LSZH as our basic standard.

With the New Year brings a promiss to our clients to add value engineering to all our quotes. And to this end our Director Graham Hinton is embarking on the DC- professionals course DCDA data Centre Design Awareness course with John Laban as instructor.

John is well known within the industry, and is possibly the most inovative and influential data centre professionals in the world today.

We feel that an important part of any quotation is the design element, as this is the stage in any project that will save time and money in the long run. With a professional approach to training DC-professionals were considered to be the best training establishment to gain the skills neccessary for data centre, data room upgrade, and installation projects.

All elements of data room build stages will be taken into account, including running costs.

With the New Year already upon us, we are looking at building on our AV installtions, now that we have Cedia trained members of staff on board, and are sub-contracting experienced individuals from the industry with 15 years plus experience.

We already had over five years of installing projectors, touchscreens, whiteboards, up to 4 mtr electric motorised screens and local speakers, so not  a giant leap to build upon these skills and take it to the 5:1 home cinema level.

We have already installed and set-up a system this year!

We had a busy Christmas break, working quite a few days and nights getting clients projects started, and finished. Namely a server cabinet swap-out at The Royal Academy of Art, during an over-night exercise to replace a single cabinet for two, and replace all backbone links within tne room to cat6A, 10 Gbit performance. Half made up offsite to allow a smooth changeover from tne previous cat5e cabling. All patch leads replaced, and individual 24 way APC pdu's use to seperate redundant power at server level.

All labelled and tested, servers all came up and no interuption to box-office sales and staff services were experienced.

We now have 2 x fully qualified first aiders within our ranks. A client mentioned that they couldn't get security cover as the security gaurd needed to have first aid qualifications also. This sounded like we were never going to be able to get the project under way.......solution, we had two of our guys trained up, so the client could use any of their security gaurds.

We were more than happy to help out!

IP has taken off within the AV world, with devices such as AVR's, NAS drives, CCTV and HDTV over category cabling for projectors, and screens. This means that the equipment can now be place wherever suits the layout of the building, and ethernet signalling can extend the distance to 90 meters from the main AV racks.

Bridge Networks Ltd can now offer our clients Dell computers.

We have teamed up with a long term partner - Maxnett,  to offer supply and support of all / any model of Dell computer. This is a very exiting new venture for us, and now means that we can compete with other support companies who offer the supply of computers plus the cabling infrastructure.

We have found in the past that other companies often fell short when it came to understanding the structured cabling requirements of a client, and also had poor installation practices. Often not installed to compliance standards.
