We have been working over the last three weeks - evenings at BMW Stephen James at three of their sites, updating their workshop data networks. The current breed of car with it's onboard computer systems require a network that can cope with any software update in a robust manner. Stephen James could see this coming, so asked us what the best course of action was.
We recommended keeping traffic separated from the rest of the network by using 'workshop' switches running at 1Gbps portspeeds, and with a scalable pathway to 10Gbps by installing OM4 fibre and Cat6 Hubbell Nextspeed backbones. This allows for future growth.

All works now complete, and handover documentation along with test results for all data lines will be handed over after a final meeting and walk-through with the client.
